Suprise Home Coming Achieved

Let the unpacking begin!! Where everything will go, no one knows..but we are just happy the man of the house is home!!

A pre-dinner time ring of the phone with a "unlock the door, these bags are heavy and its FREEZING outside" the night before Hannah's birthday has left me with a permanent smile.

Geoff's original travel itinerary wasn't getting him home until closer to Christmas, but Daddy wanted to be home to celebrate Hannah's 3rd birthday on December 17th. Returning home the evening December 16th was a huge surprise, and the best gift we could ask for this birthday/holiday season.

Hannah could not have been more happy (or helpful) in getting all the luggage unpacked!! And it seems like anything from Dad (from snacks to kisses) are so much sweeter than they are from Mom now..

Dream Come True

My Christmas wish has come true... because all I wanted for Christmas was my husband home for the holidays..

The Most Festive House On The Block

We have so much festive in this house that separates our house from all the runners up to the "most festive house on the block."

You can't tell by the looks of it on the outside, but enter the Keighley home and you will see what I mean.

On the outside, we are not offering a blinding display of lights and inflatable fun, just a touch of class..

On the inside there is a little of this and a little of that scattered around each room..

No baking is happening in this kitchen until someone can help me eat all the sugar besides a three year old..

Our handy plumber snowman with his clever jokes to keep us company while we brush our teeth..

A garland in our bedroom because I am weird like that..

Some extra warmth to keep Hannah cozy in her sweet dreams.

The living room is in dire need of a tree, but until Geoff comes home..

This will be the main attraction!

And also, our four friends have been released from tupperware hibernation to spend the holiday season in all the excitement..

Thought those were the reasons why we are the winners for "most festive house?" Nope. Save the best for last..

It is Christmas time so of course there are going to be all the jingle bells etc..But we have the trick..the biggest festive house is because not only do we have all the above...we have (drum roll please?)

AND

Welcome to "The Most Festive House On The Block!!"

Yes, this is all a part of our house currently! Yes I am crazy cakes..but there is reason for all of this!!

Geoff wants to surprise me coming home for the holidays..so I am going to surprise him with a week old (or more) welcome home banner with raisin balloons!

And apart from Christmas and New Years, this house will also be a house full of birthday cake and candles! Geoff's birthday was back in September, but he wasn't home so why not drag out the "its my birthday month, its my birthday week, its my birthday its my birthday" boy's happiness about turning the big 3-1! I am sure he will appreciate turning 31 twice on his 80th birthday..sigh the good old days! December also calenders Hannah's 3rd birthday as well as my..cough cough 30th at the end of the month..

Yep, the most festive house on the block! I don't doubt the moment Geoff walks in the door, our fake tree will get the chance to stretch its arms and the outdoor lights will get their moment to shine. We have only just begun..

Congratulations Geoff

Congratulations Geoff for graduating from CFLRS! And congratulations to me for surviving the 3 day madness to be at the graduation!

Shame on me for not posted since going on a sleepover to Montreal to be the proud Air Force wife watching her husband march in the graduation parade! Needed to hibernate for a few days, no luck with a three year old though.

Finally got to meet all of the new buddies!!

Definitely a a group of good guys!

The visit to Montreal was a whirlwind. It included a new suitcase, last minute packing, endless hours at airports, four take offs and four landings in two days, two finished books, one forgotten purse, one lost (but found) camera, a 2am to bed morning, a 4am cab ride to the airport and a partridge in a pear tree. Oh, and the BEST PART, seeing and hugging my husband for the first time in too many months!

And even got to sneak in a coffee and muffin at the airport at 6am before heading off in different directions (but still the same province.) Sorry for not letting you swallow before bringing the camera out Geoff, at least I shared my muffin!!
