We had a massive storm last night, a combination of torrential rain, hail, wind, lightening, thunder and heaps of it!! It was amazing and scary, and even made the power flicker and the house shake!!
This morning the news called it a "perfect storm," keeping emergency responders on their toes and busy. In a span of 10 minutes we had 18 lightening strikes in a row (and that is only the downtown area). There was much more around town! The thunder even caused car alarms to go off!
It took us a long time to eat dinner because we kept running to the window to watch the rain and lightening show! The entire storm lasted about 4 hours! So it was a long dinner!
Our backyard could have floated away with the amount of water it was subjected to. I heard of streets being washed out and flooding - I think we hit the record rainfall for August and its only the 11th!
